Nektar was one of the first craft cocktail bars in Singapore, but sadly has ceased operations.

After four years in the business of pushing out creative cocktails and locally-inspired tipples, one of the frontrunners of the bespoke cocktail scene has officially shuttered.

Nektar was hot when craft cocktails and artisanal spirits were only just making an appearance in the lush enclave of Scotts Road, and we fondly remember sipping on tropical cocktails and that killer chocolate martini that everyone loves. Their head bartender Raveen Misra also won Singapore's Diageo World Class back in 2011. But sadly Nektar has announced on their Facebook page that they ceased operations on Sep 11, and we're still mourning the loss of the place where we held our very first I-S Xperience.

Looking for the silver lining, we can only hope some new creative establishment takes over the former Nektar space. The stretch of black-and-white heritage bungalows along Scotts Road also houses an Italian restaurant, Buona Terra, the fine dining Peranakan Indocafe and an SKII spa, which was in the adjoining building to the cocktail bar.
