The Iberry group—known for successful restaurants such as Kub Kao Kub, Thong Smith, and Charoen Gang—launched its newest restaurant endeavor, Oh My Godmother with the hot new mall in Phrom Phong, Emsphere.

It’s a fun and whimsical patisserie and restaurant decorated with booths, white tiled walls, and terrazzo tables, bringing together the talents of Vietnamese pastry chefs, Chalee Kader, Chef Narae Kim, and the Iberry Group.

Inspired by the concept of itameshi, the menu celebrates a fusion of Western classics with Japanese, Korean, and other Asian elements. The menu, designed by Top Tables 2023 Best Chef Chalee Kader, concentrates on nostalgic classics (what they call the “fat kid food concept”) and handcrafted fusion pastas that use the one ingredient we all love: cheese.

Take, for instance, their famous blanket pasta cacio e pepe (B490), featuring a thin and luscious big sheet of pasta enveloped in a generous amount of parmesan and egg yolk topped with crispy bacon. For something zesty and cheesy, there’s also a rigatoni lemon butter (B450) with mussels, clams, and shrimp tossed in a light lemon garlic cream and lemon zest sauce. A more savory Korean fusion dish, the linguine beef bulgogi (B550) features thinly sliced beef marinated in soy, ginger, pear, and mirin.

The restaurant has collaborated with Godmother, a Vietnamese chiffon cake business by pastry chefs Jon and Lin, as well as Paris-based Korean pastry chef Narae Kim to create pillowy chiffon cakes with flavors like the crowd-pleaser French Earl Grey (B490).

So time to unleash your inner child and rally up your fat kid gang for a nostalgic, cheese-filled meal. There are also whispers that another branch will be opening at Marche Thonglor—but time will tell.

G/F, Emsphere, 524 Sukhumvit Rd., Open daily 10am-10pm.
