New eateries that have opened in Singapore in the past month.

Just off the dining boat is Fisherman's Market, which threw open its doors just a few weeks ago. It markets itself as a Japanese-Western seafood buffet restaurant with over 90 items, so think fresh oysters, sushi and sashimi, as well as pastas and pizzas.

Another newbie is The Orange Thimble, a two-week old cafe in Tiong Bahru from the folk behind White Canvas Gallery. Unlike 40 Hands just down the road, their focus will be frappes and fresh-squeezed juices (we've tried their orange already, and it's certainly promising).

Dessert fiends will be pleased to know that Taste Matters has recently relocated and are no longer just doing takeaways. We like the sound of their two-course set ($21), with two choices for each such as yuzu three ways, Berries Infizzed and Not Quite Black and White.
