Velaa has been bringing dining hits to Bangkok in Langsuan since 2019—with favorites like Vaso and Besides Umi—and now they’re striking out with ten new venues in what they’re calling Phase 2.
For those who haven’t been, while Velaa Langsuan definitely draws a hi-so crowd, it’s still a great mall for wandering around and trying different bites, and this new extension boasts a host of new spots keeping with the high-end-but-not-pretentious style.
One of the more exciting additions to the new space is Vilas from the Michelin star winning Chef Prin Polsuk. Vilas opened earlier this year, and has been serving up neo-classical Thai food, and anyone who knows Chef Prin knows it’s all about the ingredients.
Chef Tassanakajohn Ton Thitid is also here with the Lawoi, which also opened at the beginning of the year, and it’s a can’t miss for seafood lovers keen to try dishes from one of the city’s most prolific chefs.
Other Thai venues include JTAP, and while not much is known about this spot just yet, it will be featuring Thai dishes reimagined from Chef Tap Supasit.
Two of the new spaces will be a boon for lovers of Japanese cuisine. Maison Roru will be the go to for handrolls and sake from Chef Masato Shimizu and Pla Atchara, while Tonkatsu Aoki will feature Senmonten-style tonkatsu.
For those who wander the mall with a sweet tooth, there’s good news in the form of Bangkok’s favorite chocolate masters from Kad Kokoa, who’ve opened the Kad Kreamery serving up artisanal ice cream. There’s also a rather novel space opening with Chicha San Chen featuring Taiwanese teas.
Expect to find more like Heap for nightlife, Kingsman for high-end gentleman grooming, Get Some Coffee, and a Saneh Jan spinoff.
