The Water Library (The Grass, Thonglor 12, 02-714-9292-3) has already made an indelible mark on the Bangkok food scene. And now it boasts an adjoining wine bar (opening Jun 28) that holds some 370 labels (both old and new world) at lower prices since they import the wine themselves (starting from B900). HIghly recommended are the Louis Roederer Champagne, the rare Screaming Eagle or the boutique selections from Frank Family from Napa Valley, all served by a team led by the former head sommelier of Mandarin Oriental. There’s also a new summer menu at the restaurant (same price, B6,600) featuring dishes like otoro with Jerusalem artichoke ragout and Merlot reduction, and white asparagus served warm with Comté cheese, wild rice puff and suckling pig.
