New craft beer bar and cafe Tippletown is now open on Club Street.
Formerly just an online booze merchant, the company now has a brick and mortar store serving up their extensive portfolio of craft beers and ciders, including a rotating selection of cult brews on tap.
Although it’s painted all black and the sign looks like the logo of a Teutonic heavy metal band, inside clean lines and predictable seating arrangements create a more clean-cut vibe.
They offer some 80 bottles (from $10), categorized by style (region-specific ales, fruit beers, porters and stouts, ciders) rather than label, all accompanied by useful info (country of origin, flavor, volume, alcohol content). There’s also a draft beer deal ($35), where you can choose brews like Delirium Tremens and Brewdog Punk IPA to wash down a cheese platter.
To go along with the drinks, there’s bar food like the German bretzel ($3), a Reuben sandwich ($16) and tortilla pizzas (from $14).
