25 Degrees

US restaurant chain 25 Degrees is a self-described “bordello meets burger bar.” They also say everything here is made from scratch, including the homemade buns. Burgundy wallpaper, iconic black and white photos, and a giant checkerboard mirror make for a suitably upgraded diner setting. The burgers, too, are upscale. The most popular order is Number One, with caramelized onion, bacon, arugula, Prelibato gorgonzola and Thousand Island dressing.

Alexander's German Eatery

From the former manager of Bei Otto, this German eatery brings boisterous beer garden vibes to a  two-story corner townhouse in Ekkamai. At the front, an outdoor dining area comes strewn with fairy lights and wooden tables that look straight out of an Oktoberfest celebration. Inside ramps up the tavern vibes with timber, red bricks and, to top it off, a taxidermied deer head. Head upstairs for a communal-style dining hall or stick it out on the ground floor where you can keep an eye on the open kitchen and order direct from a compact-sized bar. The waitresses cut a refined look in their German traditional costumes—nothing like the skimpy versions you may have seen before.

Ash Kickers Briskets & Bourbon

Ekkamai’s newest arrival may classify as an American smokehouse, but don’t arrive expecting to find barbeque ribs drenched in sweet tomato sauce. Here, the succulent, tender wood-smoked meats are left to speak for themselves—no sauce necessary. Chef-owner Colin Stevens and co-owner Gary Stewart draw their smoking methods from across the US with one caveat: only wood is used (no gas or charcoal).

Billy’s Smokehouse

You might know Billy Bautista from Osito Unique Spanish and La Monita. Here, Billy takes on low-and-slow smoked meats with an all-American barbecue approach that nods to his California roots. Billy's Smokehouse busts out giant plates of finger-licking smoked meats, including all the sides your stomach could wish for.

The Kitchen Table

W Bangkok’s chic all-day restaurant deals in both Asian and Western flavors. Their recently unveiled “Tipsy Cow” menu features sees carefully selected meats treated to stateside cooking techniques, from smoked beef brisket and barbecue pork ribs to burgers and unique dishes like the duck lasagna. The restaurant shirks the hotel’s glamorous and glittery purple vibe in favor of classy warm woods and inviting amber lighting.
