Get ready to sink your teeth into the original Japanese beef cutlets from Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu.

Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu, Kyoto’s katsu chain celebrated for its tasty gyu-katsu (Japanese-style beef cutlets) will open its first Bangkok outlet soon at Siam Center, the brand announced on its Facebook page.

You might already know about tonkatsu, the crunchy fried breaded pork cutlets popularized in Japan, but Gyukatsu pioneered using that classic treatment on beef cutlets—specifically wagyu.

The cutlets at Gyukatsu are notable for their thinner panko bread crumbs and premium-quality cuts of beef. To ensure an optimized amount of umami and juiciness, most of the beef katsu here is served medium rare.

Currently, Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu has 67 outlets worldwide across four countries, including Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea.
