Speaking of Italy and Michelin, a big-deal double Michelin starred chef from the old country is coming to town. Hot off the heels of Chef Margot Janse of South Africa, Chef Gaetano Trovato from the restaurant Arnolfo in Siena, Italy is the latest starry chef to drop in at La Scala (The Sukhothai, 13/1 South Sathon Rd., 02-344-8888). Between Nov 9-13, he’ll be serving up a five-course lunch (B2,900, B4,000 with wine pairing) and a seven-course dinner (B4,900, B6,500 with wine pairing) every day, except Nov 9, which is reserved for his special wine dinner (B6,500).
