Chinese medicine shop-turned-hipster cafe The Dispensary is now open at Tiong Bahru.

The place offers up cupcakes ($3)—in flavors like red velvet and oreo cookie—sliced cakes (from $6) such as blueberry cheesecake and chocolate banana cake, as well as simple toasties (from $6) and bagel sandwiches. There’s also some potent coffee (from $4.50) to wash it all down.

The kitchen is surrounded by big glass windows so you can see the chefs baking up fresh treats daily. And on the second floor is an alfresco area and interior design showroom.
