Burger specialist the Meat Packing District is now open in the Bestway Building at Tanjong Pagar. It's run by guitarist from local band Obedient Wives Club, Keith Tan.

On the name of the eating place, owner Tan says, “I was throwing around some names and Meat Packing District struck a chord. I wanted a hip catchy name and also like the idea of a nice establishment in a gritty place.”

The burger specialist offers a basic cheeseburger ($7.90) as well as more elaborate recipes like The Avocado and Salsa ($9.90). Each patty weighs 120g and is made from prime chuck beef. There are also fries: Original ($2.50), truffle ($4.50), curry ($3.50) and garlic ($3.50).

The dining spot opened just last week. Tan says, “I've been toying with the idea for awhile. Over the years, I thought of food trucks, which weren't practical…and one day I chanced upon an ad for the stall at my current location and jumped right in.”
