The Thai restaurant at Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park,
Siam Tea Room, is currently serving a special menu of northern Thai food until the end of Feb, available for both lunch and dinner.
On the menu, you’ll find northern favorites like larb moo khua (minced pork spicy stir-fried with north herbs, B198), gaeng hang lay moo (northern-style pork belly curry, B350), knanom jeen nam ngiao (northern-style pork curry with opera flowers, served with rice noodles, B280).
To get a sense of all the northern Thai flavors at once, order the Northern Combination set (B340) that comes with crispy pork skin to eat with two types of nam prik (noom and ong), mixed vegetables, omelets, and sai oua.
There are also other less well-known northern dishes like the khua ho (B280), a mixed vegetable stew with grilled pork neck and grass noodles and gin nuea nam pirk (B420), steamed beef shank to be eaten with herbs and galangal chili powder. For dessert, there’s kha nom pad maprow (B119), a sweet brown sugar rice cake with young coconut on top.
Siam Tea Room occasionally offers a special menu and changes every two months. After Northern Thai food, they will move onto khao chae next—just in time for the summer.
