Parisian restaurant Dans Le Noir first began the concept of dining in complete darkness, with blind staff guiding you to your seat and serving your food. A couple of pop-ups with identical concepts were previously held in Bangkok as part of La Fete, but this is apparently the first permanent establishment of its kind to open in Asia: Dine in the Dark (2/F The Ascott Hotel, 187 South Sathorn Rd., 02-676-6676. www.didexperience.com) serves set menus of inter-Thai fusion, where you can choose between meat, seafood or vegetarian—the rest is a surprise. It costs B750/B850, with part of the proceeds going to a charity for the blind.
