No one told us life was gonna be this way.

The wholesome comedy, annoying theme song and the where-are-they-now cast of Friends are firmly relegated to another decade, but it doesn't take much for the nostalgia to crawl out of the woodwork and fill our cold, #adulting hearts with glee. Especially when we heard of the imminent opening of Central Perk SG, a themed cafe set to be rolled out by Friends superfans, Lim Jit Min and his group of friends.

The space hopes to recreate the ambience of the famous fictional New York coffeehouse (which today's hipster counterparts would no doubt sneeze at), from interior design to set-up. We hope that includes a mini-stage for local acoustic singer-songwriters to perform their own rendition of Phoebe’s “Smelly Cat”.

Its location has not been confirmed, but according to their Facebook page, it's looking like Orchard Road in March 2017. The cafe menu is already being put together by the team and we can’t wait to spend endless hours sitting on that familiar orange couch sipping coffee with our underachieving friends.

Meantime, you can support their fundraising campaign which comes with perks like a week’s drink pass, and even some limited edition Friends merch if you decide to sign up for a year’s membership.

For more updates, check out their Facebook page, Central Perk SG.
