Chiang Mai hosts two top Bangkok chefs for a two-night pop-up this weekend
New Northern flavors from two of Bangkok’s best.
Chiang Mai will welcome chef duo Napol “Joe” Jantraget and Saki Hoshino of Michelin-starred 80/20 for a two-night pop-up this Nov 20-21.
Hosting this northern Thai feast will be Spice Garden, a lifestyle and community quarter near the Three Kings Monument, set in a tropical garden and centered around food, drinks, and art. There is even a sweet hotel attached to it.
If you scratch the itch for a sorely needed retreat to Chiang Mai this weekend, don’t miss your chance to try something completely different from what you are used to at 80/20. Think northern Thai dishes with modern twists, including the use of northern oranges, Thai wagyu featuring northern herbs and spices, seasonal tomatoes, a range of preserved crabs and chestnuts, Chiang Mai chocolate, and seasonal mushrooms. According to the event organizers, the meal will be a sneak preview of the duo’s new Pachana project, so stay tuned.
The nine-course tasting menu is priced at B2,500. Drinks pairing is an additional B990.
