The next Michelin man coming to town is headed to La Scala (The Sukhothai, 13/1 South Sathorn Rd., 02-344-8888). Chef Alain Passard has headed the three-Michelin-star restaurant, L’Arpège, for 16 years, but he’s also the youngest chef to ever get two stars, so that his first stars reach back far into the early 80s. Passard is famous for having completely ditched red meat from his menu in 2001, beginning his focus on becoming an absolute expert on poultry and vegetables (L’Arpege has its own garden.) Experience his creations on Apr 24-29 (B5,500-B12,900 with wine pairing) for brunch, lunch and dinner with dishes like monk fish in yellow wine with smoked potato and cabbage, candied tomatoes stuffed with twelve flavors and lobster with turnip and rosemary.
