When Shangri-la Hotel chefs get together with renowned chefs David Thompson and Tanongsak Yordwai from Nahm, and Ken Hom from Maison Chin, for a four-course set wine dinner, we know we’re in for a treat. But even more exciting (and heart warming) is that profits from the Wine Harvest Dinner & Auction 2012 (081-894-3551, B3,900 for a ticket) will benefit the SCAD Foundation, an organization that helps Thailand’s stray soi cats and dogs. The event will be at Shangri-La Hotel on Mar 9 and will feature spicy minced prawns with crunchy rice cakes served in betel leaves and slow-braised wagyu beef, crushed organic carrots and potatoes with ginger, polenta crisp and braising jus with nebbiolo. All the dishes will be paired with acclaimed Thai wines from Italasia Trading, Hua Hin Hills Vineyard and Bangkok Beer & Beverages. For more information, go to www.wineharvestdinner.com.
