Brunch like you are in the Italian countryside with this Thonglor bistro’s new menu
A little slice of Milan in bustling Thonglor.

This dainty house hidden away from Thonglor’s main soi is Milan in disguise—from its walls decked out in pops of navy and orange to a painted ceiling inspired by the owner’s fondness of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. It’s not exaggerating to say a visit to Nuvola might make one think of a walk through a gallery, but decor is not the only thing this casual Italian diner manages to nail.
Since it first opened last year, Nuvola doesn’t aim to follow the trails of Bangkok’s Italian bistro rulebook. Occasionally, it releases a new slice of its creativity through the novel dishes—redesigning some of Italian classics to fit the locals’ preference—and on our last visit, the venue has welcomed a new brunch selection.
While one might associate after breakfast dishes with typical sandwiches or mundane egg varieties, the venue manages to break through that notion with uovo benedetti alla bottarga (B320)—egg benedicts topped with Italian cured mullet roes. The eggs are boiled like what great egg benedicts should be, and their gooeynesses marry extremely well with the mouthful savoury with a hint of sweetness from the roes.
If you’re still under the spell from Nuvola’s egg creations, we suggest you should go for its colazione (B320)—an Italian word for breakfast—which comes with another two fluffy eggs on a hot pan, served alongside a massive maple bacon sausage that bursts forth with meltingly juiciness. Fans of big prawns can go for the panino al gamberetti (B320)—an open sandwich layered with bouncy grilled prawns and finished with a tangy, morish lemon spread.
Pancake lovers should know by now that most of Bangkok’s sweet crepes tend to go very heavy on the sugar, but Nuvola’s pancake alla ricotta (B300) is a pleasant change of pace. Though these two-layer pancakes might appear to be thick and heavy-loaded with cream, they’re surprisingly balanced in flavour thanks to its zesty finish of mascarpone and a tang of dried figs.
With attentive service, a sleek, artistic space and friendly price tag (considering this is Thonglor we’re talking about), this tasteful Italian house has some undeniably appealing options for those looking for brunch that doesn’t burn a hole in your wallet. The daily brunch menu lasts from 10am-3pm, but there’s an ongoing promotion that lets you have one complimentary coffee once you order the dishes from its brunch page before noon.
