The offshoot of the Michelin-starred French fine-dining restaurant brings high-quality pastries and encourages you to dip them in coffee like Parisians.

Alain Ducasse’s food empire has its sights set on your sweet tooth with its latest pastry opening in Siam Paragon, Blue Café by Alain Ducasse. The recent opening follows a series of pushes by the brand into the world of standalone patisseries and is led by the experienced baking hand of Christophe Grilo, the executive pastry chef at IconSiam flagship Blue by Alain Ducasse.

As expected, the new venue is keeping things decidedly French: simple, quality, and authentic. Signature pastries like croissants, vanilla flan, and freshly-basked madeleines (sponge cakes shaped like sea shells) are staples of the menu but only in limited supply—an intentional choice by the Blue team to focus instead on the quality and freshness of the pastries instead of over-producing to meet demand.

Expectedly, there’s also a range of hot and cold drinks designed by Le Chocolat, the chocolate maker owned by Ducasse. If chocolate-y drinks aren’t your cup of tea, then the venue also offers premium coffee sourced from Les Manufactures Alain Ducasse, the central producer of many of the things Ducasse makes other than Michelin-star restaurants—yes, his empire is vast.

Blue Café by Alain Ducasse is also encouraging guests to take part in a bit of Parisian cafe tradition by dipping their pastries in the brand’s signature hot chocolate or coffee. Dubbed “Blue Café’s Dipping Culture” the campaign is meant to highlight an element of French cafe convention that rarely translates over to other countries: the act of dipping your bread or croissants in hot drinks, usually coffee.

You can join the charming campaign online by posting a picture or video of you doing the deed with a pastry and drink along with the hashtag hashtags #DipWithBlue #BlueCafeBangkok #BlueCafebyAlainDucasse, or by leaving a Google review, and get a free madeleine (valid from now until Mar 31)

Right in time for the Valentine’s Day madness, Blue Cafe is also offering exclusive “La Vie En Blue” croissant bouquets from now until Feb 16. The brand says these are one-of-a-kind creations and can be ordered now via phone or Line—availability is limited.
