Whether you are a returning venue partner or a new one, here is everything you need to know about BK Restaurant Week 2024.

WHAT IS BK RESTAURANT WEEK?

Each year, we partner with 50 venues across Bangkok to offer two weeks of special menus and deals on food that diners can’t get anywhere else.

This year, restaurants choose one of three possible price points: B400, B600, or B800

Diners make bookings in advance on our website, pay in advance, and then come to dine at our partner venues between November 1-15, 2024

The entire event is promoted heavily through all BK channels, our sister publication Soimilk, as well as partnered KOLs.

It’s a chance for restaurants to earn new customers, and a chance for customers to find their favorite new places.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR VENUES?

  1. Minimum three (or more) courses or a sharing menu that can scale up with each diner for Quoted Base Price between B400-800 (not including VAT and Booking Fee charged to the diner.)
  2. Minimum of 9 days participation over Nov 1-15 (including 2 peak days: Fri-Sat).
  3. Minimum of 6 covers per day of participation.
  4. Offer of at least a 10% discount to UOB cardholders (per customer) — our official credit card sponsor.
  5. Photos of your venue and menu.
  6. 2 complimentary seats for BK Magazine VIPs or special guests. These seats must also include water or a soft drink, and the complimentary Citibank/UOB dish.

HOW TO SUCCEED DURING BK RESTAURANT WEEK?

Value, value value: Menus with the best value for money always earn the most sales. Focus on this, and you will get sales.

Show your best: Make this the most exciting B400-800 menu you have ever made, and diners will buy it.

Reduce food costs: Use ingredients you already have to make new, exciting dishes for BKRW.

Include free water or soft drinks: this goes a long way for diners on a budget or people who do not drink alcohol.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE UOB DISCOUNT?

UOB customers make the most bookings at BK Restaurant Week each year — around 60% of total bookings totaling millions of baht.

Each restaurant is required to offer a 10% discount to UOB cardholders when they make a booking online — this is handled automatically through our online system.

Each restaurant can offer more than a 10% discount if they wish, but 10% is the minimum discount.

Diners who do not book with a UOB credit card will not get the discounted amount

WHAT ARE THE KEY DATES?

• September 6: Early bird confirmation deadline (written confirmation of participation)
• September 20: Final deadline for applications (including menus)
• September 30: Website and marketing goes live.
• October 7: Pre-booking period for UOB cardholders only.
• October 14: Public booking for all card types.
• November 1-15: Dining period.

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT STRUCTURE?

Example below is for B800 base price only, but the same applies to B400-B800.

BK Magazine takes a 10% booking fee from diners as well as a 7% VAT on all purchases. We keep the booking fee, but return the full base price to venue plus the 7% VAT.

Here is an example:

• 800 THB Quoted Base Price, venue receives 856 THB THB. The diner pays 936 THB.
• Venue receives balance of Quoted Base Price = 800 THB
• Venue receives 7% VAT (7% of 800 = 56 THB)
• Total payment to venue is 800 + 56 = 856 THB

HOW DO VENUES GET PAID?

Coconuts Media will calculate the amount owed and send a summary payment report to the restaurant by November 30.

After the restaurant receives a summary payment report, they must send an INVOICE or INVOICE/TAX INVOICE to Coconuts Media via email by December 8 for our checking.

After our finance team has checked your invoice, we will inform you to send an original document to our office to be received by December 18.

Credit term is 45 days after the billing deadline on December 18. Payment will be transferred to the restaurant by January 31, 2025 via bank transfer. (Any delay on billing will delay the payment accordingly).

In case the restaurant cannot issue a TAX INVOICE and/or RECEIPT together with their INVOICE when billing, they MUST submit a separate Tax Invoice and/or Receipt to Coconuts Media via email by January 31, 2025, acknowledging that they received the payment. The original hard copy must be sent to the Coconuts Media office by February 5, 2025.

Please note: In case the diner requests a Receipt or Tax Invoice, please tell them to contact us at [email protected]. The restaurant is not allowed to issue Receipts or Tax Invoices to the diner.
