After giving us the modern khon in "The Invisible World" earlier this year, Bed Supperclub teams up once again with choreographer Jitti Chompee to bring us "Circus Eclecticus," a circus-themed dinner from now until the end of July.

Inspired by Jean Genet's "Le funambule," the performance opens with orange-wigged chicks, who look like Willy Wonka's helpers, frolicking about, teasing the diners. Then emerge two dudes in a monkey and a polar bear costume while a team of dancers featuring aerial performer Rajanikara "Leng" Kaewdee (a graduate from the National Circus School of Canada) take to the 3 meter-high scaffolding, swinging about hysterically. The highlight, however, is towards the end where Leng the aerialist really showcases his gravity-defying talent on the hanging rope. While we thought this kind of production would have fared better in a more spacious setting, the show all in all is fresh, new and exciting, thanks to Bed's boudary-pushing creative director Sanya Souvanna Phouma.

The show is accompanied by three-course dinner prepared by chef Dan Ivarie. Don't like to have the fixed course dinner? A la carte items are now available during weekdays. The show is on every night except Monday, starting from 7:30pm. For more info or reservations, call 02-651-3537.
