The Banyan Tree is bringing Bangkok one baby step closer to the world of Blade Runner with its new multi-sensory digital dining experience.
In partnership with AI Digital, the hotel is transforming its 60th-floor bar-restaurant
Vertigo Too into Worldtigo and offering four-course set menus from Banyan Tree’s four restaurants amplified by digital technology.
The visuals in the room change with every dish, and so does your plate. Scan a QR code when your dish arrives, and watch it spring to life with different digital characters.
For example, the QR code unlocks special written characters for the three kings dim sum from Bai Yun (crab dumpling, shrimp ha gao, and crispy taro stuffed with foie gras) as the room transforms into a “Chinese neon jungle” (sic).
For the cappuccino coconut broth with grilled scallop—a dish from Saffron Cruise—fish swim around you, and for dessert—”yuzu planet” from Taihei (yuzu cremeux, sponge, and crumble with mango gel and coral tuille—a digitized dancing polar bear provides entertainment.
The four-course Worldtigo set costs B3,800/person. There is only one seating per day, capped at 36 guests.
Worldtigo, 60/F Banyan Tree, South Sathorn Rd., 02-679-1200. Open Fri-Sun 6:30-8pm.
