Singapore’s most promising new restaurants*
It’s only the beginning of the year but there are many hot places making a splash in the dining scene already. And before the word gets out, here are the ones to book for your next night out.
[SPONSORED] It may be early days yet but there are so many hot restaurants that have opened in the city recently. Some of them are generating such a buzz that there’s a week’s wait to get a table. Avoid the anxiety by booking these tables on Chope.
If you like fine dining without the prices, this bistronomy-focused restaurant is the place to go. Not only is it one of the city’s most-talked about openings, the menu is a marriage of the kind of stuff you would find at Jaan and Tippling Club. It’s all about super fresh market produce and precision plating. There’s no a la carte menu so you’ll have to leave it to the chefs to create dishes like wagyu shortrib with smoked bone marrow morsels.
Must try: Langoustines with mussels and egg yolk ravioli.

Love New York-style deli meats but not sure where to go? This casual deli in Mandarin Gallery is the answer we’ve all been waiting for. Long-gone are the days of dry pastrami and hard bagels because this place has just transplanted Manhattan to Singapore. It serves everything deli-related, from chunky chopped liver, perfectly peppered pastrami and freshly-smoked lox to go with your bagels. It’s no wonder there’s a line out the door.
Must try: Grilled reuben with a choice of pastrami or corned beef.

It’s a fact: everyone loves pizzas. This new Italian restaurant not only serves delicious wheels of traditional Italian pizza with toppings like truffle oil and prosciutto, it also serves favorites like squid ink pasta and gnocchi with buffalo mozzarella. Plus, it’s in the cool Kampong Glam neighborhood and also has a great wine list to boot.

Orchard dining gems are few and far between but this hotel restaurant checks all the right boxes. The fusion Cantonese food is a welcome change from the classics. And everything is delicious. The modern space decked out in mirrors and light hues, but the stars are dishes like wagyu beef in black pepper and red wine sauce and lobster and shrimp dumplings with black truffle. Oh, and did we mention that they have a legit list of Chinese-infused cocktails, too?
Must try: Deep-fried salted egg yolk prawn.

One of Singapore’s first vinyl dedicated bars, this Kampong Glam space couldn’t be any cooler if it tried. The bar program is dreamed up by ex-Library head bartender Nicholas Quattroville and is full of concoctions of infused spirits with equally creative names like the Fred Astaire made with gin, Riesling and apricots. It also has a great bar snacks menu so don’t forget to order portions of togarashi calamari and the addictive pork belly sliders.
Must try: Buttermilk fried chicken, just like atas popcorn chicken.

This three-in-one concept in the heart of Orchard Road might be in a slightly off-kilter location but it’s still a hot table to snag. It’s an all-day dining destination where you can start with a cocktail, have a great meal and then nightcap it at the wine bar. While the bespoke bar serves Japanese-style drinks like a twist on the Bloody Mary, the elevated fusion bistro fare is the star of the show.
Must try: Chargrilled wagyu half-pounder.
