E-books now available for download on Google Play
The hugely popular Android-based app store has finally opened up its e-bookstore to nine Asian markets, including Singapore.
Google Play has unveiled its e-bookstore, the Google Play Books, to the Singapore market and will see famous local titles such as Riot Green from Candid Creation, Conversations with Lee Kuan Yew from Marshall Cavendish as well as renowned international ones such as The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson available for purchase.
A spokesperson on behalf of Google Singapore says "millions" of titles will be available as a result of the move. The e-bookstore will give users the flexibility to read their purchases on the Android device of their choice, a PC web browser and on their iPhones or iPads via the Google Play Books app.
The announcement bodes well for users here as more options now become available alongside current household names like Apple's iTunes and Amazon's Kindle and Kobo.
