If all goes to plan The Cheer Ambassadors, a documentary film that follows the Thai cheerleading team and their struggle for international recognition at the World Championships, will reach Bangkok cinemas by the end of this year. Directed by Luke Cassady-Dorion, the film attracted global attention, recently winning the Best Documentary Award at the 60N Os Festival in Norway, but the post-production process is still plagued by a lack of resources. The people behind the film have set up a campaign on the Kickstarter crowdfunding website hoping to raise at least US$19,999 to ensure it gets a wide release. They’ve said that if they can’t achieve the goal by Jul 7, the project with be called off and all the money donated to charity. Visit www.thecheerambassadors.com to donate.
