After the opening of New Zealand-style fish joint Snapper on the Cheap Charlie’s cul-de-sac on Sukhumvit Soi 11, it seems like there’s a makeover in the works for the alley’s dining scene. The newest addition is Chez Papé (Sukhumvit Soi 11, 02-255-2492. www.chezpape.com), a casual French brasserie that pays homage to both Paris cafes and French cinema, with its framed photos on the walls and the line of street-facing tables outside. The food is French, ranging from simple cured meats (many of which are hanging over the bar) and more elaborate stuff. There’s also a long wine list. We love the sound of it, but stay tuned for the Open Door.
