The long-awaited Linkin Park show on Sep 23 was another sad cautionary tale of what happens when a great act meets a crappy organizer. In Bangkok for the third time, the American nu-metal band managed to impress the crowds with their old and new hits like “In the End”, “Numb”, “New Divide”, “What I’ve Done” and “Iridescent”. A shame about the annoying rain, though. But the bigger shame was all the mismanagement: bad PR, tiny entrances, aggressive guards, unprofessional beer vendor, super-delayed schedule and failure to streamline the crowds after the concert—not to mention the so-so sound. It’s kind of scary, really, that we aren’t getting our acts together because obviously acts of note are finally wanting to visit.
