Earlier this month, Thonglor got a whole new place for Mexican food from the Spanish kitchen marvels at El Willy. Here, they’re veering into creative Mexican favorites with a bit of a nightlife vibe.
With a kitchen headed by Mexican chef Pepe Vargas Huizar out of Jalisco, this new space is featuring both set menus and a la carte just off Sukhumvit Soi 51, and you can stay late and grab some cocktails too.
To kick off, you can start with some California-style tostada with crab (B490) or some classic Aguachile with scallop and white prawn (B640).
But, for lovers of popular Mexican fare, you’ll probably be most interested in their tacos, and you’ll find everything from Diabla-style spicy prawn (B195) and pork stomach carnitas (B165) to beef cecina in an adobo sauce (B195).
For your mains, Bandido leans hard into seafood and sharing with a two person pescado Zarandeado (B1,690) featuring a whole sea bass in chili sauce served with tortillas and the Raya Veracruzana (B1,490) made from skate wing with tomato, onions, and chili. On the turf side, there’s pork shank with chili adobo (B1,280) or a birria with baby lamb leg.
It’s got a bit of a nightlife vibe, so don't’ miss their cocktail menu, with a serviceable list of tequilas and mezcal; it’s also one to add to the few lists of places in Bangkok you can get a michelada (B250) and a chelada (B200).
