Meet the next generation of artists that will define comics.

The BKK Comics Festival is back for a third time. An event with Unzine, artists and patrons will converge for nearly two weeks of activities, discussions, and workshops from Oct 1-13, 2024 on the 5th floor of Bangkok Art Cultural Center (BACC).

With a focus on promoting local Thai artists, BKK Comics Art Festival, which is held in conjunction with the Embassy of Belgium, the event will feature a number of special workshops, including a live auction for charity, a Mastering Superhero Dynamic Poses: Drawing Workshop, and a class in how to make your own comic diary.

To spotlight Thai mythology, the festival is featuring the work of Adisak Das Pongsampan of Steak Comic, Om Ratchawej, and the comedy of Jod8riew. On the Thai horror side, the event is welcoming talent from the “one-baht” comic era, including Das Sudsakorn, Apichart Rodwatanakul, and Tode Kosumpisai.

The special guest this year is Atsushi Kaneko, styled The Punk Rock Mangaka. This will be the artist’s first visit to Thailand to answer questions about titles such as Wet Moon, Soil, and Bambi and Her Pink Gun. The festival will hold an interview with Atsushi Kaneko on Oct 12.

There’ll be 90s generation creators such as The Duang, Sa-ard and new wave Thai artists like Tuna Dunn, Lychee Chai, Namsai K., and Koong. The booths will be opened for conversations and book signings.
