These are the best winter beer gardens in Bangkok
Beer garden season is in full swing. Here’s where you should be spending your nights out on the city streets.
For the first time, Centara Grand is hosting an open-air beer fest up in its 26th-floor lotus garden instead of on the street level in front of Central World. Until Jan 26, expect big international beer brands to flow from the tap starting from B150/glass, like Hoegaarden, Franziskaner and Stella Artois. Pair it with some great classic Thai side snacks, and you’ve got a good night in the works.
F/26, 5pm-midnight, Lotus Garden, Centara Grand at CentralWorld. Free entrance
If you’ve walked past La Villa Ari anytime recently, you’ll have noticed tables spread out across the patio with live music sounding across the street. Expect predominantly local beers like Chang at this outdoor beer garden. Order it up by the tower, grab some light bites and chill out to cover songs and Thai tracks from now until the end of the month.
Through Dec 31, 5pm onwards, La Villa Ari, Phahonyothin Rd. Free entrance
Until Jan 6, craft beer bar-slash-distributor Wishbeer is transforming Gaysorn Village into a wintry, craft-focused beer garden as well as light snacks and other drink options.
Cocoon Dropoff, Gaysorn Village, 999 Phloenchit Rd.
This laid-back beer garden offers draught Heineken beers, tasty snacks and special concerts with popular guest artists and bands several times a week. There’s also a list of drink-friendly dishes to check out, too. Head to Emquartier until Jan 5 to see what it’s all about.
5pm-midnight, Emquartier, Sukhumvit Rd. Free entrance.
This pop-up, open-air beer fest hosted by Chang gives you good reason to visit Ratchada. Enjoy the breeze for as long as it lasts while listening to live mini-concerts from famous Thai bands and DJs, including Stamp Apiwat and 25 hours, while downing ice-cold beers with some gap glaem (Thai drinking snacks) at the brand’s beer park at The Street Ratchada.
Can’t get enough Chang? The beer giant is hosting a pop-up beer garden through Dec 31 at Artbox (Chuvit Gardens, Sukhumvit Rd., Nana) with live performances by Greasy Cafe (Dec 26) and Tattoo Colour (Dec 29), as well as a breezy beer garden at the Bangkok Dockyard (174/1 Charoenkrung Rd.) from Dec 25-31.
5pm-midnight, free entrance for all
Singha Life is hosting a pop-up beer garden at The Up Rama III, the colorful community mall known for its replica Sino-Portuguese architecture. Expect beers from Singha’s Est. 33 line, live music and tasty drinking food.
5pm-midnight, The Up Rama III, Narathiwas Rajanagarindra Rd. Free entrance
Singha is popping up at the newly opened BTS Ratchayothin stop, serving craft brews from its Est 33. line and copious pours of Singha. Expect live music from Indigo, MILD and more.
5pm-midnight, Major Ratchayothin, Phahonyothin Rd. Free entrance
