New York noise-pop band DIIV is coming to Bangkok
To be joined on the bill by four of Bangkok's hottest indie acts.
Brooklyn noise-pop band DIIV are the latest big-name act to be heading to Bangkok this concert season.
Gig organizers Have You Heard? today announced that the four-piece will headline an event called #HYHBKK Weekend Noise at The Link-Makkasan on Sep 9.
They'll be joined by four of Bangkok's coolest rock bands on the rise: Hariguem Zaboy, Cloud Behind, Triggs & the Longest Day and FOLK9.
Advance tickets are B1,300 and go on sale from Aug 4 at 10am from bit.do/DIIVBKK. And you'll want to be fast; Have You Heard?'s next gig, Phoenix on Aug 17, is completely sold out.
Started as Zachary Cole Smith's solo project in 2011, DIIV is known for a sound blending post-punk and shoegaze. As a full band, they released their first full-length album, Oshin, to rave reviews in 2012, following it up last year with sophomore double album Is the Is Are. Cole's former band, Beach Fossils, visited Bangkok in 2012.
Until September comes around, here's an oldie but a goodie from DIIV's 2012 debut album:
