Photographer Visarut Sankhum documents the lives of Bangkok's migrant workers who live in temporary tin-walled structures as they build the city's booming luxury condominium industry.

After a 2-year hiatus, the popular outdoor market returns, this time taking over Thonglor's popular community mall with plenty of booths focused on lifestyle products and fine dining.

FILM: My Buddha is Punk

As part of Bangkok Underground Film Festival (also at Bridge Art Space on Mar 4), the Asian premiere of this German-Burmese documentary will be followed by a Q&A with the director Andreas Hartmann and the protagonists, The Rebel Riot Band, who will also perform live. The film tells the story of Kyaw Kyaw, the lead singer of the Burmese punk band Rebel Riot and activist agaisnt authoritarianism, racism and the persecution of ethnic minorities in Myanmar, who spreads the message that punk music and Buddhism can exist in harmony.

The British electronic soul and pop duo, best known for hits like "Warm on a Cold Night" and "Someone That Loves You," make their Bangkok debut, with support from local bands X0809 and Plern Pan Perth.

The Australian indie-alternative rock band, best known for their massive hit "Sweet Disposition", performs live as part of Live Nation's Soundbox live music event series, with support from local bands Scrubb and Electric Neon Lamp.

The Spanish cartoonist, known for his black humor-laced six-panel comic strips that touch on topics ranging from cannibalism to infanticide, makes his Bangkok debut. Expect plenty of his cheery, colorful comics displayed alongside limited-edition T-shirts, books and illustrations for sale.

NIGHTLIFE: Rabbit on the Boat

This huge boat party on the Chao Phraya River takes place on the stationary Vanvarang Ship, featuring live music Hugo and The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band on the main deck, plus tracks  from DJs Mendy Indigo, Sarayu, K9, Coran, DOTT and more on the lower deck.

The Canadian brother and sister electronic duo, best known for tracks like "Beautiful World" and "Fault Line", perform live in Bangkok with opening act Cyndi Seui and an after party with DJ Kova O' Sarin. Dress code is sportswear.

ART: Artstreet 2017: Still on Art

The university's annual market all about art, music and DIY crafts returns, this year featuring performances from Yokee Playboy, Jinta, Ten to Twelve, Boy Imagine, Moving and Cut, Stoondio and more.

OUT OF TOWN: True Jazz Fest 

A two-day festival featuring Grammy award-winning fusion quartet Yellowjackets, American saxophonist Benny Golson and guitarist Al McKay, formerly of Earth, Wind & Fire, plus local names like Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band, Soul After Six and Thailand All-Stars Jazz Orchestra. 

CLASSICAL: BBC Symphony Orchestra

One of the top orchestras in the world stops by Bangkok as part of their world tour for a special performance in remembrance of HM King Bhumibhol Adulyadej, in which they'll be playing a set including his compositions, joined by conductor Edward Gardner and piano soloist Benjamin Grosvenor.
