There's a block party for feminists in Singapore
That means you should be there.
Block parties have become a part of life in Singapore, happening everywhere from Keong Saik to Circular Road to Tanjong Goodman. But if you want a break from all that daytime hedonism and have a true community block party, you'll be excited to know that longtime feminist non-profit AWARE is throwing one in and around their pretty Dover Crescent office space in honor of International Women's Day.
It's a wholesome affair, with good community vibes, happening Mar 11, 2-5pm. Instead of crazy booze and all-day DJs, there's a pre-loved clothing swap, cupcakes and brownies to eat and handmade jewelry for sale. If you're looking to get more involved, there's a workshop on AWARE's many projects and volunteer opportunities at 2pm, and a workshop on unconscious biases at 3:30pm.
