Their Chinese New Year menu comprises a selection of special dishes – think braised lobster ee-fu noodles ($58) and sautéed king prawns in XO chili sauce – available a la carte, in a six-course set lunch ($68 per person, minimum of four people) and in six- ($128 per person, minimum of two people) and eight-course ($108 per person, minimum of six people) set dinners. Kai Garden

Recreating the atmosphere of an ancient Chinese palace, Kai Garden is one of Singapore’s top Cantonese restaurants. For Chinese New Year, they’ll be offering menus that range from the seven-course “Harmony” ($98 per person) to the 10-course “Happiness” ($888 for a table of 10) and their most lavish option, the 10-course “Celebration” ($5588 for a table of 10). Shunde-style savory signature yellowtail fish yu sheng with gold flake

For classic Cantonese fare presented with modern artistic flair, look no further than Yàn at the National Gallery. Menus are available for groups of two to 10 people (from $118 per person) with mouth-watering items like golden pumpkin with fresh crab meat and bird’s nest, steamed marble goby with superior soya sauce and roasted whole suckling pig. Blending culinary traditions and contemporary gastronomy, and taking diners on a tour of regional Chinese cuisines, a meal at Crystal Jade Prestige is always a memorable experience. Baba Chews Chinese New Year set menu

For a Chinese New Year meal fit for the King of Katong, make a beeline for Baba Chews at Hotel Indigo. Named after Chew Joo Chiat, namesake of the Peranakan enclave, Baba Chews has set menus for lunch and dinner (from just $22 per person for a two-course lunch). Yhingthai Palace Restaurant

For a reunion dinner with a Thai Chinese twist, Yhingthai is the restaurant for you. Located on Purvis Street, Yhingthai has been around since 1993. Their set menus are good for groups of two (from $138), four (from $268), six (from $398), eight (from $568) or 10 (from $738) with deep-fried pomfret in mango sauce, Thai green curry with chicken and winter melon, and steamed grouper with lime, chopped garlic and chili among the highlights. Bak kwa pizza

After opening more than 400 restaurants around the world, PizzaExpress finally arrived in Singapore last year. For their first Chinese New Year here, they're rolling out three special menu items. Usher in the Year of the Rooster with their festive dough balls with pineapple-pepper dip, spicy bak kwa pesto and classic garlic butter ($6); bak kwa pizza complete with pork floss, crispy prawn crackers and plum sauce ($28); and lucky mandarin dough balls dusted in icing sugar and mandarin orange zest then served with mandarin cream dip ($5).
