An unlikely setting for awesome local spirits, with bonus views.

A co-working space probably isn't at the top of your list of drinking holes, but that's precisely where you'll find Silom's new hidden cocktail gem.

Nestled on the sixth floor of the Work Loft building, home to an eponymous co-working space, an escape game venue and a fitness center, you'll find a cafe and bar which doubles as a showroom of sorts for local booze distribution and consultancy company Bootleggers Trading

Even if you're unfamiliar with the name, chances are you've tried some of their drinks. They're the guys who supply pretty much every Mexican restaurant in town with spirit-of-the-moment mezcal, and their portfoilo also covers a slew of locally made craft spirits and cult international brands.

By day, the generic-looking space serves coffees and other cafe drinks (from B50), which you can take in the sunshine of the small outdoor terrace or at the long table with views looking directly onto Sala Daeng BTS platform.

Most nights you'll also find Bootleggers mixologist Somkanay Singha, former head bartender at Mellow, Badmotel and Ce La Vi, and a finalist in this year's Diageo World Class competition, behind the bar.

When not whipping up classic Old Fashioned and Mai Tai cocktails from the menu (a very affordable B220), he's experimenting with spirits like Iron Balls gin (Bangkok), Grandma Jinn gin (Lamphun), Lamai and Lamoon rums (also Lamphun) and Kai vodka (Northern Vietnam), as the space is also used for Bootleggers' cocktail consultancy, spirit training and workshops (check the Bootleggers Facebook page for updates).

Ask to see the newest bottles on the shelf and they'll happily make you a drink to spec. Craft beers are also available.

The place is open to the public, but Work Loft's hot desks start from B300/day if you also want to get some work done.
