VR bike riding and sidewalk Zumba anyone?

Nightlife over the F1 weekend in Singapore isn't just about glitzy afterparties and crashing A-list gatherings. There is plenty of hyper-local and neighborhood-y fun to be had. Here are three ideas.

Drinking and dancing on Circular Road

The Sunshine Nation people are rolling out an F1 weekend edition of their long-running Block Party on Circular Road. The action will be focused around Gong, O Comptoir and Marco Marco, and house DJs Julien Brochard, Brendan P and Zig Zach will be spinning from 7pm till about 2am. Best part is there's no cover charge. Sep 16

Virtual reality cycling in Tiong Bahru

Okay, so it's not technically a party, but it's in the street, it's over F1 weekend, and it sounds way more fun than most parties. Bike to the Future is a VR-fueled event happening in Tiong Bahru by Future Cities Laboratory. They're going to set up a bike and some VR goggles at a parking lot by 19 Lim Liak Rd., and you can explore an imaginary future Tiong Bahru that is optimized for cyclng and walking. Zumba and Caribbean food on Keong Saik

The party street is getting another edition of the day-to-night Urban Ventures street festival over the F1 weekend. Things kick off at 4:30pm with a public Zumba lesson by Virgin Active. The program also includes parkour performances (and free workshops, too, though you have to sign up in advance), pole dancing, street art, Caribbean food and music by Lime, street art and a dance party 9:30pm onwards. Sep 17
