Shanghai-based celebrity chef to cook a Peruvian feast in Bangkok this month
A five-course taste of Peru via Shanghai.
The Peninsula welcomes Shanghai-based, Peruvian celebrity chef Eduardo Vargas from Sep 29-Oct 2.
After moving to Asia in 1997, the chef tasted success at Singapore’s Coco Caribe and Brewerks, before venturing to Shanghai, where he's become something of a celeb for his work at a long list of restaurants including his own Latin-specializing Azul Tapas Lounge.
From Sep 29-30, he'll offer a five-course set dinner at Jesters (B3,600 per person, B1,200 extra for beverage pairing). Some of the dishes to expect include lobster ceviche with citrus “tiger’s milk,” corn and sweet potato; red snapper with chupe sauce and Peruvian ravioli; and beef tenderloin anticucho (meat kebab).
You can also taste the chef’s creations from a live station at River Cafe & Terrace during dinner buffet (B1,800) on Oct 1 and at the Sundays at The Pen brunch on Oct 2 (B2,200).
