Prep your bellies for a huge gastronomical weekend at Ayer Rajah Crescent this month
There's a BBQ blowout, upsized Jenga, and even beer races.
As part of the Singapore Food Festival, famed food truck-themed gastropark, Timbre+ is hosting Open Stoves from Jul 23-24. More than nine prominent chefs from Timbre+ and its partners, as well as five guest chefs, will pair up to prepare some unique and off-the-menu local dishes.
The chef pairings will feature the likes of chefs Shaun See (Tuk-Tuk Viethai Cuisine) and Daniel Sia (The Disgruntled Chef), who will be serving up mango kueh salat for dessert, as well as chef Alexandar Chong (Garçons) and Wayne Liew (Keng Eng Kee Seafood), who will present a fusion of French and local culinary techniques with some coffee glazed pork ribs with almond flakes and achar. For a full list of chef pairings, go here.
Timbre+ will also be converting their outdoor courtyard into a BBQ Blowout picnic area, complete with picnic benches, beanbags and hammocks. Manning the grill is chef Bernie Utchenik from Big Bern’s American Grill, who will be serving up a special New York Strip—a 100-day grain-fed Prime Steer Sirloin Steak—with some homemade potato salad and coleslaw.
After filling your bellies, go old-school with a game of giant Jenga, Connect Four and Pick-Up Sticks, or switch up your evening with some neon beer pong and beer mile races if you're feeling athletic. Expect the party to last well into the night as Timbre resident bands SuperSonic and O.K READY! amp up the atmosphere with some great tunes.
Admission is free. For more updates, check out their Facebook page here.
