Friday, May 27

SHOPPING

Capitol Piazza’s glitzy heritage building is hosting Maker’s Market at its outdoor plaza for three days with local fashion labels, art work, music and baked goods. May 27 -29 

EXPLORATION
Try the new self-led Bedok Heritage Trail if you’re up for some outdoor history lesson along a 15km route to discover  its early kampung beginning.

FILM
The Mexican Film Festival is wrapping up at The Arts House featuring films by contemporary female directors who’ve made a huge impact in their industry.  May 27 - 29

The French Animation Film Festival returns for its 5th edition as part of Voilah! French Festival 2016.  On until May 29.

THEATER
Specializing in all things offbeat, wild and wacky in the world of the arts, Flipside 2016 features shows like Time For Fun, Don't Explain and Metamorphosis. On until Jun 5.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Kwek Leng Joo Prize of Excellence in Photography Winners Showcase brings us Mountain and Expanse presenting Marvin Tang and Lyn Low’s photographic exploration of the concept of the unknown journey. May 27

MUSIC
Local band Farrago is releasing new album Trilbly Hats and Sunflowers, with K.C. Meals and Sidewalk Swingers and Aya Sekine playing alongside them. May 27

Saturday, May 28

FILM
If you haven't yet seen Eva Tang's feel-good documentar about the musical Xinyao Movement, The Songs We Sang, you can catch it at The Projector this weekend. May 28-29

SHOPPING
Shop, eat, enjoy music and take part in craft sessions without having to brave the heat or rain at the indoor OYAY Summer, a two-day summer-themed market at Wheelock. May 28-29

It's finally time for the long-awaited Keong Saik Carnival, where the party street is closed to traffic, and there are tons of cultural activities, food and parties like the Caribbean Block Party and the Keong Saik Carnival After-party.  May 28

Keepers is opening its new store next to Kapok at the National Design Centre (NDC). Head down there if you’re looking for a design-forward shopping experience.  May 28

A fashion and food bazaar, The Ladies’ Souq Eid Special at Aliwal Arts Centre is showcasing local female designers and bakers so get ready for a whole lot of girl power. May 28

Even if you don't care about sailing, soak in the urban pop-up beach, market, food tent along with other beach-related activities like biking and canoeing at the annual DBS Marina Regatta.  May 28 - 29

Sunday, May 29

DRINK
The annual World of Wines is hitting Sentosa with wine-tasting of over 200 wines from 20 wineries worldwide for two days(make sure you score an invitation for the second day). May 29 - 30

POETRY

Sign up to read or be an audience member at the LGBTIQA-themed edition of spoken word competition series Human Writes. May 29

EXPLORATION
It continues! Pesta Ubin’s Birdwatching at Pulau Ubin is a three-hour nature walk for early risers, with a chance to glimpse globally-endangered birds. May 29

Take part in a 4.7km route bike-ride around the Padang, Fullerton Road, Robinson Road and Shenton Way which will be closed to traffic from 7am-9am for Car-Free Sunday.

PARTY
Head to Sentosa with your friends for the Social Sunday Barbecue, and catch up over a gourmet feast and free-flow wine and beer. May 29
