Thailand's Diageo World Class bartender winners announced
Four of Bangkok's most talented bartenders will now represent their country against Southeast Asia's finest.
Last night (Apr 26), Diageo, one of Thailand biggest alcohol importers, hosted the Thailand final of its World Class bartender competition.
The four top spots went to Pailin “Milk” Sajjanit (Il Fumo), Ronnaporn “Neung” Kanivichaporn (Roof Hideaway), Kittibordee “Gov” Chortubtim (Backstage Bar) and Pinsuda "Anne" Pongprom (Bamboo Bar Bangkok), who will now go on to compete in the Southeast Asia stage of the competition in Bali on Jun 1-2.
In other awards handed out last night, Noppasate Hirunwathit (Revolucion Cocktail Bangkok) won the rising star award and tied for the popular vote award with Kittibordee “Gov” Chortubtim (Backstage Bar).
The winners of the Southeast Asia phases will join the global final in Miami later this year.
Thailand's full list of 12 finalists are as follows: Kittibordee “Gov” Chortubtim (Backstage Bar), Suchada “Fahbeer” Sopajaree (Hugo Bar and Eatery), last year’s top four Pailin “Milk” Sajjanit (Il Fumo), 2014 Thailand winner Ronnaporn “Neung” Kanivichaporn (Roof Hideaway), Tidarat “Gik” Ratananon (Sorrento), Paradee Sahathanasomboon (Vesper), Tongchana Limchai (Sorrento), Noppasate Hirunwathit (Revolucion Cocktail Bangkok), Pinsuda Pongprom (Bamboo Bar Bangkok), Nattawut Jeerasatienkul (Il Fumo), Somkanay Singha (Ce La Vi Bangkok) and Phaothong Monkongwongcharoen (Track 17).
