For the third time, the Aliwal Arts Centre will hold its Urban Art Festival, with cool workshops, local DJs and bands as well as street art showcases. Jan 16

The fourth edition of Singapore Art Week will have more than 80 art shows and concerts. Local artists like Tang Da Wu and Donna Ong will be exhibiting work. Jan 16-24

While it sounds like some stuffy award presentation, the Prudential Eye Awards also comes with a two-and-a-half month showcase of Asia’s contemporary work. Photographer Robert Zhao has some black and white photographs here. Jan 16-Mar 27

Fans of Phantom of the Opera can listen to their favorite songs at this classical concert at Esplanade Concert Hall. Jan 17

Coming to Singapore for the first time, concurrent with Art Stage, the Singapore Contemporary Art Show carries work priced from $10,000 to $100,000. There are galleries from all over Asia and the world, and we're particularly excited about Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, aka polka dot lady.

Part of Singapore Art Week, the upcoming Art Stage is worth checking out as it features work from 32 countries and 30 cities, along with a sculpture that celebrates the 100th anniversary of Dadaism. Jan 21-24
