POETRY
This month's Speak at Canvas features Greek spoken word poet Luka Lesson, the Australian Poetry Slam Champion of 2011. The line-up includes a roster of opening acts, including our dear once-interviewee Deborah Emmanuel.

FLEA MARKET
The indie Maad Pyjamas flea market has lots of local artists and craftsmen hawking their wares. The Organization of Illustrators Council will draw portraits. 

SEMINAR
Trek out to NTU for the two-day TEDxSingapore. Look out for the most viewed speaker on YouTube, stats master Hans Rosling, and the founder of Lonely Planet, Tony Wheeler.

PARTY
If you can't wait for Dia De Muertos, the The Good Times X Tribe Party is the pre-party party, with Mexican DJ Jacinto Di Yeah playing house music. 

WORKSHOP
The Brazilian Cachaca workshop teaches you how to make two of the country's cocktails, with some fun facts thrown in as well.

Sat, Nov 7

ART 
Gillman Barracks' is holding its last Saturday Art Day Out of the year, with lots of events like the UNDER 20 Joint Galleries Group Show and an exhibition by local designer Benny Ong, who is showcasing his pop art inspired textile prints. There are also eats at the Great Singapore Jerk Off with chicken wings in three types of Jamaican sauce, at Red Baron.

CONCERT
Taylor Swift is in town for a concert as gratuitous as her music videos, doing songs like "Bad Blood" and "Shake It Off." It's sold out, of course, but maybe you can wander around outside looking bereft and hope for the best?

PARTIES
1-Altitude is holding a series of Alice in Wonderland-themed parties with DJs Rattle and Tang with hip-hop and R&B music. The first one starts today.

There is a Dia de Muertos (Mexican Day of The Dead) party on Emily Hill, with Mexican food (obvs). It's kind of a week late, but we're still excited about the Frida Kahlo installation. 

There's a Diwali Ball at MBS' Pangaea, so get fancy and come dressed in your best. London and American DJs Harvey and Jazz will be in the house.

THEATER
It's not too late to catch A Clockwork Orange, the dystopian production of Burgess' famous novel. Expect shirtless men, violence and balletic movements.

FLEA MARKET
Hipsters can unite at The Market of Experiences at 16D Lorong Ampas with retailers like Hyphenthelabel, SSEK jewelry and Darts Distribution.Eats and booze will be from Teaspoon of Love, Bicycle Barista and Soi 55. 

Lepark is hosting its Big N Breezy Bazaar, with a Chatchuchak-style market of over 100 retailers of the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.

The Maker's Block will be held at Far East Square's Pavilion and is filled with workshops by local artists and a drone-fighting competition.

FILM
The Singapore Myanmar Film Festival at The Projector showcases small productions from two countries. Look out for Side Glance of the Dragon, about a man making a living off a garbage dump. 

FLEA MARKET
The Red Cross is having a Sunday Flea Market where volunteers sell secondhand goods, and proceeds go to various charities. 

LITERARY
The Singapore Writers Festival ends today, so catch the time-honored final debate. The motion this year is This House Believes that Singaporeans are not Dreamers.

EAT
$100 Gourmet returns. Two Michelin-starred chef Rolf Fliegauf and Nicky Ng will be at Mitzo. There are still seats available for the 7pm dinner slot. You can also a reservation for the next event at The Waterfall, where Chef Fliegauf and Marco de Vincentis will whip up a three or six course meal.
