MUSICALS: Wan Sala Sod The Musical

In this light-hearted comedy performance, The Star’s Kaengsom plays a charming architect who’s about to marry a Thai girl educated abroad, played by Pleng Asawahem (Tuk Gae Ruk Paeng Mak). On the day of the wedding, both must face up to their complicated past. Also starring Academy Fantasia’s Patcha and Aof Pongsak, Yhing Rata and Ratklao Amaradit. Gala performance this Thursday.

ART: 37th Bualuang Paintings Exhibition

One of Bangkok's art highlights this month is the annual competition exhibition organized by Bualuang Foundation. This year's three categories were traditional Thai, semi-traditional Thai and contemporary paintings. The winning works from each category plus 43 other selected entries will be on show at the Queen's Gallery.

SALES & FAIRS: Thailand International Travel Fair 2015

It's already halfway through 2015. If you're looking for an idea of where to go this winter holiday, head over to Queen Sirikit National Convention Center this Aug 13-16 for the 17th edition of Thailand International Travel Fair. Expect over 1,000 booths by hotel chains, travel agents and travel services like Agoda, Air Asia, HIS Tours, Japan National Tourism Organization, plus international travel organizations.

ART: 4 Visions

Launching this Friday is a group exhibition at the Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Centre, featuring the work of four National Artists Nontiwat Chantanapalin (2006), Decha Warashoon (2011), Ithipol Thangchalok (1998) and Preecha Thaothong (2009). Opens this Friday at 5pm.

A live public forum sponsored by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation and the Faculty of Education, Thammasat University, focusing on the issue of urban development, and how people and organizations from all walks of life can get involved. FILM/ART: Pop-Up Cinema

Future Shorts Cinema Thailand presents its first event at RMA Institute, this Sunday Aug 16 at 4:30pm. Pop Up Cinema/Summer Season 2015 will be an evening of Thai and international short film screenings curated by the Future Shorts cinematic community, which has hosted similar events in over 300 cities worldwide. Food and drinks will be provided by Deli-Q Food Truck and Vedett beer, plus bluesy music by Thai band Yamin.
