Pedestrian Night is back on Orchard Road Aug 1
This time, it's an SG 50-themed event with street performances and shopping deals.
Following its launch from Oct 2014 to March this year, Orchard Road will be closed yet again to all vehicles on Aug 1, from 6:00-11:00pm. This Pedestrian Night event, stretching from Scotts/Paterson Junction to Bideford Junction, will feature a red and white theme (to celebrate Singapore's Golden Jubilee, of course) with displays journaling Singapore's history, street busker performances and special shopping deals like $50 buys at Tangs Beauty and Home.
Previous editions have seen tennis matches and mass yoga sessions playing out on the streets, and now you can look forward to a bespoke art showcase by local talents such as illustrator Ee Shaun, a 2011 Sovereign Prize recipent who has done works for brands like Adidas, Nike, Disney and Facebook. Not quite as exciting as previous editions, but we're glad they've brought a dose of culture to this shopping belt.
