Themed "A Fresh Taste of Tradition", the Singapore Food Festival is serving up unique takes of Singapore’s street food, in addition to Chinatown Food Street's Mod-Local Fest, which focuses on fusion dishes.
ART
The sixth edition of Art Apart features urban art by emerging Asian artists including Filipino painter Ramon Orlina, glass sculptor Kunihiko Nohara and contemporary Chinese artist Zou Cao.
FILM
Catch indie horror film It Follows, about a young woman haunted by an unknown supernatural force resulting from a sexual encounter. Directed by David Robert Mitchell, it stars newcomers Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist and Daniel Zovatt.
FAIRS
In collaboration with Pasarbella, Pop Market will sell local brands such as 2 Peas In A Pot, focusing on lifestyle products, and Jot A Blotter with office supplies, among other cool lifestyle and artisanal food brands.
PARTY
Tanjong Beach Club hosts The Beach Spread, with tons of seafood and grilled meat, as well as unlimited Champagne by the beach. There'll be the requisite DJ playing chillout tunes, of course.
SHOP
Supermama debuts their first collection of souvenirs at Souvenirs from Singapore. They'll be showing 10 souvenirs like the rainbow kueh doorstopper, which will eventually complete a 50-strong souvenir collection.
DRINK
The Macallan Rare Cask Experience takes you through the history of the famed whisky brand's production of sherry-seasoned oak casks, with a whisky master to guide you through the process.
WELLNESS
It's an evening of yoga and everything wellness at UrbanSCAPE, happening on the rooftop of People's Park Complex. Stock up on gourmet food, enjoy a beer, listen to funky jazz music by Alicia Pan and end with a sunset yoga session.
MUSIC
Montreal-based three-piece experimental pop band Braids brings their acoustic instrumentation and electronica soundscapes for the first time. They'll be playing songs from their third album, Deep In The Iris.
ART
Korean artist Jieun Park's first solo show Encounters, features a mix of graffiti-inspired pieces done in the style of Chinese ink calligraphy and includes iconic landscapes of places like London, Paris, Singapore and Hong Kong.
WORKSHOP
Learn to make your own sling bag at Fashion Makerspace's Reversible Sling Bag Workshop. You'll learn how to sew, choose fabrics, lay patterns and even do some fancy topstitching. You take home the fruits of your labor, for better or for worse.
FAIRS
Singapore Really Really Free Market 37 is the only free-for-all flea market in town. Donate used clothing, books, CDs and home accessories (among many other things) and take home a few things you covet in return.
MUSIC
The SICF Feature Concert presents Philomela, an energetic female choir all the way from Helsinki, Finland. This concert also has local choir, VOCO.
