The buzz: This new live music joint is by the people behind St. James Power Station.
The décor: Glamorous fittings meld with raw, industrial touches, as evidenced by dramatic red chandeliers, glossy black bar counters, concrete screed flooring and wooden bar stools. The open concept layout, designed to allow guests to watch the band from most angles, makes the dimly-lit interiors feel airier and more expansive.
The vibe: It has all the works of a pretty sophisticated club—modern, contemporary décor, a decent dance floor, plush seats, trippy disco lights and a stage big enough for its seven-piece resident band Transit to move and dance around in.
The drinks: You’ve got your regular house pours, wine, and beers (from $5) as well as bottle deals such as 1-for-1 Belvedere vodka and Johnnie Walker Black Label whiskey before 11pm available daily. If you’re looking to sip on something fancier, the bar serves a selection of martinis ($18), sake (from $18) as well as cocktails like Bellini (with prosecco, peach schnapps and peach puree, $20) and sangria ($15). During happy hour every Monday to Saturday from 6-9pm, you can get 50 percent off all loose drinks.
The music: R&B, Top 40, dance, classic and Latin covers by Transit, The Gig’s resident band.
The crowd: Regular professionals, executives and expats mostly in their 30s and older, all hyped up by the band’s dynamic covers.
Why you’ll be back: That depends on how much you enjoy watching the sexy performances by Transit, and the drink deals which pretty much sum up the draw of the mainstream club.
