Two (more) nightlife spots opening soon
Yes, we're all excited about Potato Head but there are other soon-to-open places with equal parts of cool.
From the bartender, Marian Beke who helmed famed London cocktail bar Nightjar comes their interpretation of a kooky and equally as thrilling Singapore re-imagining. It's not exactly an offshoot of the original bar, but definitely has the look, feel and menu of its London counterpart. Located in the bar "quarters" fondly known as Ann Siang Hill and Club Street, the bar will feature Nightjar's head barman Marian Beke's creations. Look forward to a bar that celebrates heritage with a cocktail menu that highlights different periods of time but also decor that is reminiscent of a traditional Chinese medicine hall complete with kopitiam chairs.
This basement bar occupies the space that Oxwell & Co. used as a store room, so be prepared to be track down this unmarked joint. Much like a mad scientist's secret hideout, there are lots apothecary-type bottles with all sorts of spirits, juices and spices ensconced. Much like other bespoke cocktail bars, most of their ingredients are made in-house coupled with an obscure and rare list of spirits and ingredients. We even hear they have a cocktail "omakase" option: $120 sets you for a night of adventurous tipples at the bartender's discretion.
