Right after we wrote about special editions from Moët & Chandon, Dom Pérignon and G.H. Mumm, Piper-Heidsieck has delivered something truly out of the ordinary—the Piper-Heidsieck Bodyguard, a bottle of Champagne with a second skin of faux crocodile leather in a shade of lipstick red.
The folks at Piper-Heidsieck apparently scanned the hide of a Nile croc for 12 days and 12 nights (we'll take their word for it), to create a latex mold which produces the bottle's skin. They tell us that it's the first time a Champagne has been clad in such a way, and what reason do we have to doubt it? This is a conversation piece for ages.
It's available at Cold Storage and Market Place outlets islandwide for $70.90.
