When Tokyo Joe’s (25/9 Sukhumvit Soi 26) reopened its doors last October, after a few years out of action, it brought with it the promise of nightly live blues and jazz. But now the leaseholder has decided to install a new management team, meaning the place just won’t be the same. We’ve been told the bar might continue operating under the same moniker, but the classy resident band, charming decorations and occasional charity events are no more. But before jumping to any depressing conclusions, let’s see if the venue can keep its reputation as one of the most swinging places in town.
