1881 Bar & Restaurant

This latest branch by Water Library is now open at the new building in front of the Central office tower, Groove @ CentralWorld. 1881 might not be as cozy as other branches of Water Library but the small outdoor terrace is a convenient addition to a neighborhood not particularly blessed with good bars. The list of cocktails is pretty fresh, too. Try the Kai Sexy Lychee (B320), a vodka-based lychee flavor cocktail served in a V-shaped glass on top of a bowl-shaped glass filled with ice. The mixologist will serve the cocktail with an aphrodisiac bitter and add as many drops as you wish.        

Harlem Shakers

The new sandwiches and cocktails joint recently arrived at the Eight Thonglor building. Harlem Shakers sees Krirkphol “Fluke” Masayavanich offering an easy-going atmosphere wrapped up in street culture gimmicks. Joseph Boroski designed the cocktails. Our pick: the Cool Cat, strong flavor of tequila, Grand Marnier and "butterfly syrup" transformed into ice-cream-like flakes served in a martini glass with a spoon.

Distil

Distil Bar has an amazing, sky-high view and prices to match. If you can afford it, mixologist Ron Ramirez has introduced the Barrel Age series last month with the Valentines’ Adam & Eve cocktail. This March, he's also rolling the Pandora Box (B645), which is served with the ice in a paper box that you need to add to the drink--a fun gimmick. The cocktail itself used wild fig, vanilla cigar and 3-day macerated orange peel to top the flavor of his aged-spirit which is gin mix with house-made raspberry bitters and leave it in oak bourbon barrel for 50 days.        

Myst

Opened in October last year, Myst is the cocktails and sheesha loving bar on top of Grass Thoglor whose fancy cocktail presentations are all over Intagram. The names are quite something, too. Try the signature Sperm (B180) or Quick Fuck (B180) just for kicks. But the boldest one may the newly launched Romeo & Juliet where the two cocktails with opposite, yet complimentary, flavors are served on a huge tub of ice garnished with rose petals, ice balls and dry ice.
